2 year agoA man is in critical condition after he was shot early Saturday morning in Downtown Sarasota. A woman is in custody in connection to the shooting, but SPD is still investigating.
Sarasota Police Department:We are investigating a shooting in the 1400 block of Main St., Sarasota, that happened just before 2am, January 1, 2022. Detectives believe this is an isolated incident & the public is not in any danger. One man has life-threatening injuries and at least one woman is in custody

2 year agoHillsborough Co. firefighters battled a building fire in Riverview overnight. HCFR responded a heavily involved medical office on the corner of Rivercrest Dr & US 301 around 1am. No one was injured and the cause is under investigation. US 301 was briefly closed
2 year agoHillsborough Co. SO says the agency lost one of their own overnight from suicide. HCSO responded to a home in Ruskin after the deputy made threats and barricaded himself. He later took his own life. HCSO urges deputies to use any of their metal health resources
